Ukraine Child #42091 – $29 per month
Yevgeniy lives with his mother, three older sisters and grandmother in a small three room apartment in Kyiv. His father left the family and Zhenya (short for Yevgeniy) doesn’t know anything about him.
Mother Yulia is raising her four children by herself. She works as a helper in the kindergarten and earns very little money, which is not enough to feed the whole family. Healthwise, Yulia is not doing well. She has hernia on her spine and has been operated recently. Yulia’s mother, grandmother of the family, Lyudmila, also lives with them. She is retired and is doing her best to be helpful to all family members. Her tiny pension is a part of family income.
All children, except the old sister Anastasia, go to school. Zhenya loves to study, he is a good student, loves drawing and construction. The boy is very sociable and teachers and his friends love him. Zhenya is a sportive boy, he loves to ride his bike, and is very “creative” while riding (no hand on the handle bar, riding on the edge). His grandmother is worried sometimes as she thinks it is not always safe.
Mercy Projects conducts a Child Sponsorship project in Ukraine to keep children at home with their mother or family members. Our goal is to keep children out of orphanages and home with family. Child Sponsorship supports the entire family and is the first step to bringing hope and health to these needy children.
Last year Zhenya has been to the excursion in the fire department. Now he wants to be a fireman to save people’s lives.
Please, pray for this family, for peace in Ukraine, for mother’s health and for them to know the Lord. Sponsorship of Yevgeniy would be an encouragement and a blessing to this family.
