Olga Bykova

Ukraine Child #42083 – $29 per month

Lyudmila and Danylo Bykov family is from Kyiv, Ukraine. They live with their three children in one room of the apartment that they share with Danylo’s parents and his sister. All total – eight people in three rooms.

This family’s story is pretty sad. Father Danylo used to work as a lawyer in a private company, but one day he broke his heel bone and had to stay at home for half a year. He lost his job. He looked for a job but could not find anything and he started drinking. Mother Lyudmila is working as a cleaning lady and a housemaid in different homes. She also takes care of the children.

The older daughter Margaryta is fourteen years old. She is a nice girl and a good student. She loves to study.

Olga is 8 now. She is very talented and curious girl. She likes drawing and attends drawing classes at school. Olya (short for Olga) also likes to sing and likes music. Her dream is to attend musical school.

Bogdan is the youngest in the family. He is also very curious boy. He loves to read and can read pretty fast.

Other family members have many health problems. Grandfather is 92 years old. He is an invalid (doesn’t have one leg). Grandmother has problems with her heart. And aunt has Down Syndrome.

Mercy Projects conducts a Child Sponsorship project in Ukraine to keep children at home with their mother or family members. Our goal is to keep children out of orphanages and home with family. Child Sponsorship supports the entire family and is the first step to bringing hope and health to these needy children.

Mother Lyudmila and all three children are members of “Living Hope” church. Children go to Sunday school. They asked to pray about their father, that he will be heeled from alcoholism and repent. They pray for the health of all family members, for a good job for their mother and for their own place to live.

Sponsorship of Olga would be an encouragement and a blessing to this family. Please keep them in your prayers.
